September 14th, 2016; Aruba’s new OS an API-based platform to boost WLAN automation
Aruba have announced OS8, a major new release of the operating system for its controller-managed wireless LANs. OS8 is an API-based platform that can be deployed as a virtual machine running on servers, significantly simplifying moves, adds, and changes in your infrastructure. This gives flexibility to just buy and install the licenses you need without waiting for controller hardware.
the cornerstone of the new release is the Aruba Mobility Master, the next generation of master controller that runs ArubaOS 8. Aruba Mobility Master is deployed as a virtual machine (VM) or hardened server appliance for more memory and compute power. With the Mobility Master, major ArubaOS 8 features can be updated via software without requiring any planned network outages.
Aruba Mobility Master offers real-time access to user, device and app context and infrastructure services via REST API. Mobility Master is easily integrated with third party systems to ease network management and monitoring, and developers can take advantage of the vast amount of information to power new business and IT facing services.
