Cohesity backup attracts $410m investment

Infrasys partner Cohesity has atrracted further major venture capital support of $250m, bringing to $410m the total backing for the backup & analytic tech; investor vehicles involved carry some familiar names: Cisco, HPE, Morgan Stanley and Sequoia.

Cohesity was founded by Mohit Aron (Google, Nutanix) and includes a Google-like search in its global backup and analytic technology. Cohesity allows enterprises to move away from data silos by putting all copy-data on one globally searchable platform, whether on physical Cohesity hardware, or in a public or private cloud. Users can deploy Cohesity as a target for existing backup software, and/or can dispense with third party interfaces and use Cohesity’s on-board backup.
